Flag of British Virgin Islands

The current flag of the British Virgin Islands was officially adopted in 1956.

As an overseas territory of the United Kingdom, the islands fly the (UK) flag. The flag features a likeness of Saint Ursula, the namesake of the islands. She was symbolically martyred along with 11,000 virgins, and all are represented by the twelve lamps. VIGILATE is a latin word meaning "Be Watchful."
